I was a Communications Intern on The Community Engagement Team at SOAR365, a non-profit in Richmond, VA that provides support and advocates for people of all ages with physical and intellectual disabilities.
When I was brought on board, they were gearing up for a complete rebrand. The organization was changing from The Greater Richmond ARC to SOAR365. ARC is an antiquated acronym for “Association for Retarded Citizens”. It was an acceptable name at the time of the organization’s creation, but times have changed. SOAR365 is the only chapter of the national ARC to change their name. It rejuvenated the brand to the delight of clients, staff and donors.
Promotional Materials
Collateral used both in print and online to promote the organization’s mission.
Copy Writing
An organization like SOAR365 is full of unique people. I interviewed staff and clients frequently to write biographies. The biographies were published externally on the organization’s website, social media and newsletter.

Social Media
I managed SOAR365’s Facebook page. I planned, created and scheduled 3-5 posts per week.
Over 8 months, I was able to increased average engagments by 7%.
